OUR TEAM
Sonia Meikle
Chair
I was honored to be nominated and elected to the position of Chair in 2018. My position as welfare rights and information specialist lends itself very well to the development of the support group's aims and objectives. I lead on stakeholder engagement, raising awareness of these life-threatening illnesses and management of the committee.
Annie McDonald
Secretary
I have been volunteering with the support group since it was founded. I lead on business support, coordinating the meetings, events, and initial contact with members. Living with sickle cell allows me to bring my personal experiences of interacting with the various agencies and organizations that our members engage with.
Mark Malwah
Mens Group Lead
I have been volunteering with the group for many years, providing business and IT support. I now lead on our Mens Group, co-ordinating monthly meetings for men aged over 16. This group primarily meets to discuss issues primarily experienced living with these diseases but also provides supportive network across the whole support group.
Mary Clarke
Assistant Secretary
I joined the group in 2018 after working as a consultant hematologist for many years. I assist the secretary with business support to service the group and provide expertise around health and well-being for our members.
